Manipulation can help in many of these cases where skilled diagnosis proves that a joint is slightly out of place and is causing a "trapped nerve pain". However, in certain cases the pain keeps coming back as the joints move again to their former painful positions even though no new strain has been put upon them and this is due to the fact that ligaments, or supporting structures of the joints, have become permanently over-stretched, allowing abnormal movement and consequently recurrent pain.
