Since it opened in 1999, The Lighthouse, has become one of Scotland's premier venues, attracting more than 250,000 visitors in its first year. An early building by Charles Rennie Mackintosh was re-animated by local architects Page and Park to produce what is now one of Europe's largest Architecture, Design Centres.
